Titans 1 vs Pirates 14 The Grantsburg Pirates scored eight runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat the Turtle Lake/Clayton Titans 14-1 on Thursday. The Pirates got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Myers doubled, scoring two runs, and Kylie Hansen grounded out scoring one run. Grantsburg added one run in the second after the Pirates scored on a wild pitch. A ground out by Rengo extended the Pirates lead to 6-1 in the bottom of the third inning. Piper Olson earned the win for the Grantsburg Pirates. The lefty surrendered four hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking one. MacKenzie Tarmen started the game for the Titans. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and three runs over one inning, striking out none and walking one. Myers threw one inning of zero-run ball for the Pirates in relief. They allowed one hit, striking out two and walking none. Myers provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Pirates with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Olson paced Grantsburg with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. The Grantsburg Pirates didn't commit a single error in the field. Rengo had the most chances in the field with eight. Jackalyn Heller went 1-for-2 at the plate as the cleanup hitter led the team with one run batted in. Pabst led Turtle Lake/Clayton with two hits in two at bats.
