Pirates 4 vs Baldwin-Woodville 2 The Grantsburg Pirates ousted Baldwin-Woodville 4-2 on Friday.
The Pirates opened the scoring in the second after Ashlynn Lener grounded out, scoring one run. Three more Pirates runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 4-0. Whitney Myers doubled, scoring one run, and Ruby Rengo homered to center Field, scoring two runs. Piper Olson earned the win for the Grantsburg Pirates. The lefty allowed three hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking one. Groskreatz took the loss for Baldwin-Woodville. The starting pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking one. Rengo provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Grantsburg with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-4 on the day. Megan Schafer and Piper Olson each collected two hits for the Pirates.
